Nic McEwan and Jo began McEwan Haulage in 2012, with over thirty years’ experience in the transport and civil construction industry between them, they have the knowledge of the industry to meet and exceed customer requirements and expectations. Working across so many sectors and with a reliable professional fleet allows the business to stay nimble and easily meet their customers’ expectations.
McEwan Haulage values health and safety, as a business, and within their staff and contractors. A hard-working team, McEwan Haulage wouldn’t be the business it is today without the dedicated staff and support from customers throughout the South Island.
Nic McEwan, General Manager
Starting on the ground floor and working his way up, Nic is a 15 year veteran of the transport and civil construction industry and started with McEwan Haulage in 2012. He brings a 'can do' approach with an innovative streak and enjoys the wide range of clients they get to work with.
“We cover such a wide variety across the transport industry; so many different people all with different requirements. It's great to be able to deliver on our promises and have them back for repeat business.”

Jo Hobson, Office Manager
Jo has been working in the civil contracting and transport industry for nearly 20 years, forming McEwan Haulage in partnership with Nic McEwan in 2012. Jo prides herself on her integrity and solid work ethic, making for effective communication with customers and full accountability for their undertakings. She enjoys the small team environment and the customers they serve: “I love the people and the challenge of running a business and I never stop learning.” She adds, “Hard work is the key to success.”
When not head down, tail up in McEwan Haulage, Jo enjoys her garden and spending time with her family.
